Nuraisha in Tanzania

We began corresponding with Nuraisha in August 2017. I will update this post as we hear from her.


We have received 5 letters, in addition to one pastor's letter and one country director's letter. Her birthday is May 17.

Nuraisha attends TZ-834 near Mtwara
* Home to approximately 5,200 residents
* The primary ethnic group is Kimakonde
* Most commonly spoken language is Kiswahili
* Most common work is work is day laboring, fishing or street vending, but majority is unemployed
* Average earning is $56 a month
* Regional Diet: maize, beans, fish, cassava & rice
* Common Health Problems: malaria
* Typical Houses: dirt or cement floors, mud or brick walls, tin or thatched roofs

Center activities: Bible lessons, choir, health screenings, medical treatment, games and sports, uniforms, school supplies and hygiene education.

* Dreams: to visit Mt. Kilimanjaro, for her sponsor to visit her, to help her family, to be a businesswoman or a doctor
