Ideas for Packing a Shoebox

Samaritan's Purse has great suggestions for items to include in your boxes...and you can see those ideas here.

And this graphic from their website is really helpful.

My mom's trick for affordable gift buying is to buy gifts all year round--she buys school supplies during Florida's tax-free week, stuffed animals after Christmas and Easter, candy after Halloween, winter clothes in the spring, and summer clothes in the fall! My husband and I make it a habit to check Walmart's clearance section every time we're in the store...we've found fun train-shaped soaps, stuffed animals, scissors, nail clippers, lip gloss, frisbees and many other items for a few dollars or sometimes 25 cents!

One idea that I love is to include a letter and photo in each box...this is just a beautiful way to share with a child how much you care for him or her...and that opens the door for the church workers to share how we can demonstrate love because of Christ's love for us.
