This summer, we are working through the book
I Am: 40 Reasons to Trust in God by Diane Stortz, about the names of God. The illustrations are beautiful and Juanito and Rosie have really been enjoying learning more about God through His names!

And my friend Courtney shared her wonderful summer plan with me. Each week has a topic, and Courtney collected activity, book, and snack ideas for each theme! We had such a fun time doing the first week, that I thought I'd share it here. All credit for inspiration goes to Courtney!
Here is the booklist:
Elmer and the Rainbow by David McKee
Penguins Love Colors by Sarah Aspinall
I am an Artist by Pat Lowry Collins
What Makes a Rainbow? by Betty Schartz
A Rainbow of My Own by Don Freeman
Liz Makes a Rainbow by Tracey West
Magic School Bus Makes a Rainbow by Joanna Cole
Planting a Rainbow by Lois Elhert
Colors! ¡Colores! by Jorge Luján
I linked all the activities so that you can do them yourself (and I tried to take photos of my supplies...you'll notice that I modified some activities based on what I had on hand; sometimes it worked out as expected, other times we had different results!).

In the fall, we will be starting with Ancient History, but of course we'll include geography as we go along. I'll be sharing on the Compassion Family blog like last year! And for this summer, I encourage you to read Jill's posts about her "visits" to other countries with her older girls. I am taking notes for when my kids are bigger!
