Pastor's Letter: Ethiopia (ET-203)

We received a pastor's letter from Feraol's pastor in Ethiopia! Feraol attends ET-203. All the photos are from Compassion's Ethiopia Oromia page.

Dear Eric and Hannah,

I greet you and say many the Lord's abundant grace and peace be with you. I write this letter to you rejoicing of the amazing works of God and blessing you.

My name is Abu M., and I am the pastor of the Holeta Guenet Church that operates the Child Development Center attended by Feraol. It is located in the town of Holeta near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

We are very happy for your support of Feraol, and we thank God for this. God bless you for the help you extend to him.

The people in the community we serve are of the poorest living standard, and in order to earn their meager daily income, they work hard day and night. The community has benefited from the ministry of the church. Our future vision is to serve these children holistically in diligence and trust in order to enable them to become fulfilled citizens, and if possible, to extend our support to the other children of our community, who are not getting any help elsewhere.

The children of our center have a great difference from their other peers in the community, because they grow in the knowledge and fear of God. We believe that our children can be the start of a nation that is filled with the fear of God. We believe that our children can be the start of a nation that is filled with the fear of God. There are many children of our center who serve the church. Many of them are participating in the Leadership Development Program. One girl who completed her program with us is serving in many fields now. This is one of the many fruits we have seen. Many serve in songs and prayers in front of God and the congregation in the church, and it is very pleasing.

The children communicate with their sponsors through letters and the children are very happy with these, whereas the others who don't receive any letters from their sponsors express their eagerness and sadness. Their relationship strengthens when both parties write letters to each other.

The church is constructing its worship hall and is on the phase of completion. Please thank God for this and pray for finalizing it. Please also pray that the hearts of our children are prepared to hear God's Word for change to come in their lives, and that the youth are kept away from snares such a addictions, and adultery, etc.

God bless you for your ministry to Feraol! Till we meet in another letter, stay well.

In Christ,

Pastor Abu M.
