Dear Eric and Hannah,
My name is Joao Alberto L.P. I am the pastor at [BR-309], the CDC attend by your sponsored child in the city of Fortaleza Ceara. This is a lacking and needy neighborhood. I am convinced that God has entrusted me with this honorable mission to reach each kid and consequently their families so that through the center, in partnership with the local church, many lives may be changed for the glory of the Lord. I am glad to know I am not alone in this mission to release children from poverty. Besides being a really poor community, unfortunately much remains unattended, especially in the areas of health and sanitation. Most of the children are born and soon delivered to poverty and misery. There are public school but in general they are having constant strikes and lack of teachers.
I recognize that your help has positively influenced and radically changed the future of many children and teenagers, because by loving even just Mariana you have planted a seed that is germinates and grows good fruit in entire families and communities. In every step, children at the center are being molded by the image and likeness of Christ so that they become people of good character and know the plan of salvation in Jesus Christ.
The community knows us through the many years of social work developed by the church, and the whole center, with its team, is really committed to the parents and families of sponsored children. There are several ways to realize how much this project has done well to our children, but one of such is when we witness the long awaited moment they receive letters from their dear sponsors. Wow, what anticipation! They express their happiness in their eyes and how they feel important. These letters show love, joy and hope and that is valuable to the continuation of our work. As a pastor I am very grateful for all the help and devoted love. We pray for your precious life and all your family. May the Lord reward you with love.
