Mail Call Monday: News from Bolivia, Dominican Republic, Ghana & Honduras!

We received a letter from 8-year-old Mary of Bolivia!


Mary's letter was titled "Festival and Holidays" and see learned that her favorite holiday is Christmas. She likes helping her mom with her business on holidays, playing with her niece Dana, and doing homework. Mary shared that her family exchanges gifts on Christmas Eve and at church they celebrate by, "singing and doing a play. They gave us candies, tostado (it is like popcorn) and we share Api (a Bolivian drink) and buñuelos (fried bread)." And Mary drew this lovely picture:

Next we heard from 8-year-old Ana of Dominican Republic.


Ana's letter was titled "My Friends" and she said her favorite thing to do with her friends is eat ice-cream. They love to share with each other and know each other from the barrio! And Ana has a list of eight best friend. Ana said the beach is her favorite place and drew this great picture:

We also heard from 16-year-old Jefry of Dominican Republic.


Jefry said he loves basketball. And he said he attended a Bible fair at his center where they presented Jesus' life. And Jefry drew a fun picture!

Then we received a long full letter from 16-year-old Sandra of Ghana.


Sandra sent a very detailed list of her new experiences and what she is learning...it included many things about clothing and how to make it and what it is used for. She also said at home she cooks for her whole family and the community has a sanitation day once a month where everyone participates in cleaning up the community! Sandra enjoyed the photo I sent of the okra we grew and said that she also grows okra, "it is also delicious like yours."

And finally, we heard from 15-year-old Dayan of Honduras.


Dayan said that they're going to the mountains for Christmas to cut coffee. But he said he enjoys it because they'll earn a lot of money. He asked for prayer to faithfully follow the Lord! And he said he's praying for us.
