Dear Eric and Hannah,
I greet you in the name of our Lord. My name is Abera L. I am an evangelist and head of the spiritual department at Ayertena Guenet Church that operates the Child Development Center attended by Seyefu…
Thank you for supporting Seyefu and helping him to be released from poverty. Most of children in the center are now living a better life than before. May God bless you.
In our community there are many challenges regarding the children, including abuse, transmitted diseases like HIV-AIDS, uncomfortable living areas without shelter and basic needs, poverty, and no access to school. Our church has a plan to help the poor who are living in our community through the Ministry of Love in Action (fewer betegbar), which has begun operating now. Our vision is to present the gospel to children of our community by the Word of God.
The impact the Center has on the children is that many children have received Jesus as their personal Savior. They attend classes at school work diligently, perform the best results and join the higher institutions such as colleges, universities and technical schools. Some have been taking training on different skills based on their affiliation.
I know a young boy who has been at the Center since his childhood. He received Jesus as his personal Savior at Sunday School. After completion of his high school, he joined AA University and graduated in Literature, BA. At this time he is an active member of our church and ministers in church.
I must tell you that the sponsor-child relationship through letters creates happiness for children. They are joyful when they receive letters from their sponsors and happy in writing response letters as well. I encourage and promote letter correspondence to continue.
Pelase pray for God's grace upon us to work hard in this child care ministry. I appreciate your love and compassion for Seyefu. God bless you.
In Christ,
Evangelist Abera L.
