We live in a beautiful hot region, where population speaks Spanish and Quiche languages. Most people work in informal commerce, non-qualified workforce, and diverse employments. The educational level of young people is high school. We count on electricity service, water from pipes and from a well, and public transportation such as bicycles and three-wheel motorcycles used as taxis, and buses. The main road is paved, roads in town are paved with cobblestones, and the rest of streets in villages are of dirt, or partially paved with cobblestones. The main problems that we face are religiosity, drugs, and family disintegration.
Our church is affected by another kind of problems, like lack of workers, illnesses, and inconstancy of some members. My vision for this church is to reach should for the Kingdom of God, to restore families and prepare children and youth as faithful servants. My vision for this center is that children and youth become faithful servants of God committed with their family contributing thus to a better country.
Registered children are different from those who are not part of the program, since children show a behavior of responsibility, integrity, and service to the neighbor with good principles and values. Last year we had 114 confessions of faith at the center. Nowadays about 119 children and young people representing 26 families regularly attend to services at our church.
Letters between children and sponsors build affectionate relationship, develop a sense of belonging to a family and give happiness. Despite they are not relatives, the relationship becomes closer. Children that receive letters become joyful to know about their sponsors and their families, and because they feel that sponsors are interested in them and in their progress. However, those who don't receive letters become disappointed and feel envy of other children. I hope you will remember how important your letters are to Jonathan and will write frequently.
Please pray for young people at the center who are not baptized in the Sprit of God yet, for they can receive this blessing. Also pray God to call missionaries up from among the youth in this partner church and center.

Her birthday is June 17. Deisy lives with her mother. Her duties at home include helping in the kitchen, running errands and cleaning. Her mother is sometimes employed as a laborer.
