Kristen's photos show the area surrounding the project, the project itself, and there are photos of Valeria with her mom and with Kristen. It is always a blessing to see photos of our child's actual project! And when friends are able to visit our kids, it is the next best thing to being able to visit our child ourself!
Dear Eric and Hannah,
May the grace and blessing of the Lord Jesus always surround and accompany you all the time.
My name is Maria L. G. pastor of the Child Development Center called Proyecto de vida of the Iglesia Cruzada Cristiana, located in the northwest of Medellin, Colombia. This project is attended by your sponsored child.
As pastor of the center I want to thank all sponsors for the commitment and support to the children in the program impacting their lives in a meaningful way. I especially want to thank you for sponsoring Valeria. Your support, letters, love, pictures and prayers make a big difference in her life.
Sponsors have influenced the children and young people in an integral way in all aspects of their growth: spiritually (accepting Jesus into their hearts) socially (getting better interpersonal relationships), physically (having stable health) and cognitively (in their academics and vocational formation). We have also been blessed by many visits from sponsors, which brings great joy to the children. The center has been visited by sponsors 12 times, gladdening the hearts of children and allowing sponsors to participate in a unique experience. These visits help each child to believe with more conviction in his sponsor and increase love for each of them.
Counting on your prayers to spread the kingdom of God in every family from the center is rewarding to me. Thanks to sponsors, the support of Compassion, and prayer this job is easier for the church and each of the program partners.
The center is a space for integral care and we do various activities that contribute to this success, including the educational and recreational activities that strengthen the unity between the sponsored children. We also host Bible camps and schools that encourage the search for God, birthday celebrations and Christmas dinners that increase self-esteem, and both personal and group assessment. We are committed to activities that contribute to individual and group development of each child and family.
In every contact you have with children and adolescents we do an intercessory prayer for you. We are grateful for your communication with Valeria because it means life to Valeria. We praise God for moving you to support those who are in a position of vulnerability. I pray you will write to Valeria, as it is very important.
For all these reasons I thank each one of the sponsors for their kindness to each sponsored child. I long that the peace that surpasses all understanding abound in your hearts. And that each day can be full of blessings.
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute." Proverbs 31:8 (NIV).
Your sister in Christ,
Maria L. G.
